We provide mothers and their children with safe, clean, wholesome, and secure living accommodations. We assist mothers in finding apartments which allow them to live with their children and maintain a sense of family connectedness. This allows the opportunity for recovery to begin.
Our staff provides the opportunity for parents to receive training and peer support in learning healthy skills to raise their children. An evidence-based curriculum is utilized, and opportunities to practice these newly learned skills are a part of the experience. A parenting lab will be provided to allow for these principles to be learned and experienced, and peer review will ensure these new concepts are firmly established.
Life skills services offered:
1) Financial – We utilize the popular Dave Ramsey – Financial Peace University curriculum to teach mothers new skills in financial management.
2) Interpersonal – Mothers learn new skills in healthy relationship building.
3) Educational Advancement Opportunities – Options for higher learning, vocational training, and practical experience will be provided.
4) New Job Skills – Our ministry will work with North Dakota Job Service and other appropriate entities to increase job training and placement opportunities.
5) Health Care – Mothers will be assisted in ensuring adequate healthcare is provided both while residing in our facility and after leaving our program.
6) Peer-to-Peer Support – Trained staff and volunteers will be enlisted to provide a full-partner in the mothers’ recovery and life journey. This area, we believe, is the critical area of service we can provide to ensure the lowest rates of recidivism possible.
This ministry will utilize the “CompaCare™ Compassion Care System” when providing these services. CompaCare® is a compassion care system that ministers to vulnerable children and families in their own communities. It is also designed to partner with COMPACT's Foster Care Placement Services. CompaCare is built from evidence-based data. Although it was originated to first assist foster care ministry, it's flexible design can assist other ministries on behalf of vulnerable others.
The CompaCare Manual informs and provides the care system. It is supported by CompaCare Certificate Trainings that further educate and empower leaders and key volunteers in the process.
